Hello, I am an enthusiastic, energetic and hardworking freelancer with a successful, proven, track record of achieving accurate and consistent work within multi-discliplined environments, both pro-active and reactive. With over 3 decades in the industry developing a wealth of knowledge on many different aspects of advertising as well as Sales Promotion; POS; DM; Press Advertising; Packaging; 6, 48 and 96 sheet boards; magazine/newspaper page makeup; website design; online; HTML based web banners and much more, enjoying a close working relationship with some very talented creatives, in some great agencies and print rooms.
Based in Tourmakeady in County Mayo, Ireland, I am well situated to serve clients on site in the Connacht region or anywhere else remotely.
Because I have over 30 years experience working in the industry working in some great agencies and print shops in the UK and Ireland. Starting as a wet behind the ears mac monkey and climbing my way up to the dizzy heights of studio manager. Working on all disciplines from press advertising; direct mail; point of sale; sales promotion; packaging; outdoor; brochures; magazines; leaflets; posters; flyers, stationery, websites; emails; online advertising; illustration; retouching . . .
Expert

adjective: having or involving a great deal of knowledge or skill in a particular area.
Retouching:
I love retouching. Whether it’s colour correcting, compositing, creating something from scratch or even cutting out jewellery for a high-end brochure. I’ve been using Photoshop since the early days, before layers were a thing and everything had to be created using masks so I know my way around it like the back of my hand! Design Creativity is something I enjoy immensely, putting ideas down on paper and seeing them through to mac visuals and final artwork is great reward.
Artwork
Turning rough creative visuals or a clients brief into something a printer or web developer can use without any fuss. Having worked in many top agencies for most of my working life, I am well used to turning jobs around quickly and accurately and with attention to detail.
Print Production
In-depth knowledge of all things print. From standard digital and litho through to more bespoke printing such as flexo; gravure or even woodcut. Having worked closely with some brilliant printers over the years I’ve gained experience in just about all forms of print. Generating quotes whether it’s for a small run of postcards or half a million 64pp perfect bound magazines has become second nature.
Digital
I’ve been responsible for creating online content for various clients throughout the years. Creating emails; facebook ads; animated banners, skyscrapers and MPUs all in HTML.
